About the Position
The Millennium Institute (MI) is seeking entry-level and experienced candidates for one-year, renewable consultant positions in the following specialty areas:
Development Policy Planning
Macroeconomic Modeling and Analysis
Integrated Policy Analysis
Energy and Climate Modeling
The position involves modeling and analysis of a broad range of development issues, in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Development Policy Analyst will collaborate extensively with national stakeholders to calibrate and contextualize MI’s iSDG model to countries, analyze data and information to be used for policy analyses, design and simulate policy scenarios, and produce policy reports based on simulation results. The candidate will work with a team of experienced and dedicated professionals, and interact with national policy makers in consulting and workshop settings.
Minimum of a master’s degree System Dynamics
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Economics or Business Administration
Experience in modeling/consulting in development policy
Excellent analytic, research, and writing skills
Fluency in English
Experience working in teams, open and collaborative attitude
Demonstrated commitment to sustainable development issues
Experience in other modeling methods
Experience in training, workshop facilitation, or similar group management skills
Experience in data search and analysis
Multicultural experience, particularly in developing countries
Proficiency in Arabic and other UN languages is a plus
The position is remote and may be performed from anywhere in the world. A commitment of at least 20 hours per week on average, and more if necessary to meet deadlines is required. Willingness to travel to the Middle East for several weeks at a time and on short notice is also required.
